MH-T 6012-1999 Aviation Obstruction Light Technical Standards for Airfield Area of Civil Airports

Aims

To set the highest point and edge point of telecommunication tower for marking it to air traffic.

Method

1. For Towers between 90m to150m, install a medium intensity aviation obstruction light on the top of the tower, and install a low intensity aviation obstruction light( LS701, LS702, LS707, LS708) or a medium intensity aviation light (LM001) on the 2/3 and 1/3 of the tower.
2. For Towers between 45m to 90m, install a medium intensity aviation obstruction light (LM001 or ABC-7M) on the top of the tower, and install a low intensity aviation light(LS701, LS702, LS707 or LS708) on the middle of the tower
3. For Towers between 30m to 45m, install a double aviation obstruction light (LS303, LS307-2 or LS308) on the top of the tower
4. For Towers lower than 30m, install a low intensity aviation obstruction light (such as LT101, LS701, LS702, LS707 or LS708) on the top of the tower
